PCT Directorates

NHS Lewisham comprises of six directorates plus Lewisham Community Health Services.

Each directorate is headed by a senior manager who is responsible for the day-to-day running of the organisation, for developing local health services and for ensuring decisions made by the Trust Board are put into effect.

Corporate Services

Corporate services are responsible for managing the Trust Board and management of the headquarter's functions.

Commissioning

 Martin WilkinsonMartin Wilkinson: Director of Strategy and Systems Management

The aim of this team is to enable difficult decisions on how we use existing investment and any new money, to be taken with full information, in an open and transparent way.

 

 

 

 

 

Finance and Resources

 Tracey Easton: Director of Finances and Resources
The Finances and Resources Team has a number of strategic functionalities.  These are; Estates, Facilities, Finance, Information and Communications and Technology (ICT).

The team co-ordinate, manage and maintain all of the PCT’s finances and resources. Some of these services are outsources and some are provided directly by the Directorate to the PCT.  The Directorate is also responsible for the risk management, both clinical and non-clinical and for the day to day management of the PCT’s estate management and maintenance including clinics, health centres and administration centres.  The team is also partly responsible for the facilities and services provided to and for these buildings and centres/clinics.

 

Public Health

The Public Health Directorate’s main focus in the PCT is to lead on programmes designed to improve health and well being for the whole population, and reduce inequalities in health outcomes, for example; health protection, prevention and control of communicable diseases, screening programmes and health needs assessment, and area-based initiatives such as the Health Action Zone and Neighbourhood Renewal. The directorate often works in partnership with other agencies and Lewisham Council through Healthier Lewisham and other partnership arrangements. Public Health is also responsible for driving sustainable quality improvements across all service areas through empowering and engaging clinicians, developing leaders, sharing learning, developing audit programmes, managing clinical risk, training and development. The Directorate is responsible for quality assurance, clinical effectiveness, clinical safety, continuous professional development, clinical education and training.

 

Governance

Magda MooreyMagda Moorey: Director of Governance
The Governance Directorate is responsible for monitoring the performance of the NHS Lewisham and any organisation from which it buys healthcare services for the people of Lewisham. It is also involved in service planning and redesign.

The Director, Magda Moorey, also acts as Caldicott Guardian for the organisation. This means she and her team are responsible for protecting the confidentiality of patient and service-user information and enabling appropriate information-sharing. This is a key role in ensuring that the NHS, Councils with Social Sevices responsibilities and partner organisations satisfy the highest practicable standards for handling patient identifiable information.

 

Engagement

This directorate actively seeks out the views of patients, carers, families and all members of the public who use health services in Lewisham to ensure they have voice in the design and delivery of healthcare services.

This direcorate also includes the communications team, human resources, freedom of information, complaints and the patient advice and liaison service.
